It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

With only 11 days to go until Christmas I thought I'd get a little festive and show you how I've been using treasures from my button tins to spread some Christmas love in the card designs I've been busy making!

Keeping to a quirky and vintage theme I had fun making these little greetings cards to give out to friends and family!

Ofcourse if you'd like me to make some cards for you please get in touch, I'd be more than happy to make you some special To Love And To Cherish Christmas Cards!
I'm also open to making any other greetings cards for your special occasions be it a birthday, valentines day, anniversary, new baby, engagement or wedding!

I'll be dipping into new button territories in the new year for To Love And To Cherish Bouquets, which I'm very excited about! Keep your eyes peeled for bridal accessories, jewellery and other quirky gift ideas.

Wishing you all a very special Christmas, and best wishes to anyone having an intimate winter wedding this season!

3 Bouquets For 3 Special Ladies

Last month I had the wedding of a very beautiful friend to make for. Her wish was to create 3 very different bouquets to reflect each of the women who are very special to her and her big day. What a lovely idea I thought, thankyou bouquets to last them a life time!

To her best friend's mother for making the stunning bridesmaid dresses, a glamourous purple design :-

To her mother in law, a gold and ivory vintage inspired bouquet with pearls and plenty of sparkle :-

And for her mother, a pretty and delicate pastel bouquet with sparkles and the softest of dainty frills :-

Each bouquet was made to suit each individual, and they were very different in many ways. However, you might've spotted that their stems were wrapped and finished in the same way! This is because they were wrapped each in a piece of the wedding dress that once belonged to the bride's grandma. The most beautiful and special way to finish a bouquet off I've ever done!

An Inspiring First Wedding Fair

I've been writing a lot about it recently, and as you might know yesterday was a really exciting day for me, as it was the first wedding fair I've taken my bouquets to!

I was quite nervous in the morning, checking I had everything countless times and hoping it would all look good and gather some interest. After setting up and introducing myself to the lovely people from Stately Brides on the stand next to me I felt much more comfortable and confident. The first anxious moments were over and I could finally start talking to the public face to face about my work!

The flow of customers was quite steady throughout the day and I met lots of lovely people including a few very supportive friends and family. It felt so nice to receive so many compliments about my bouquets, and I came back feeling so inspired!

This was a fab first fayre and after talking to some of the other suppliers there, I got a lot of great tips regarding networking and recommended wedding fairs. I was surprised at the amount of cards that had been handed out by the end of the day, and the feedback from everyone interested was more than I could ever have hoped for. I hope to be hearing back from some of the people I met!

So after a great first fair in Debenhams, today I'm feeling really inspired and I can begin work on my first client's order feeling more inspired and excited than ever!

Ooh and before I blog off for today, I just want to say a huge thankyou to my lovely mum for being so supportive and being by my side all day, I really appreciate all of your help <3.

New Design: the Bohemian Princess bouquet!

I'm really excited to show you my latest design - Bohemian Princess, inspired by festivals, folk lore, country fairs, arts, crafts and midsummer evenings.

This design is my quirkiest yet and possibly my most fun to design and source all the materials for!
Most of the buttons are wooden, and it features some that are hand painted. Many other different styles are included such as a variety of vintage plastic buttons. This bouquet has so many different buttons and charming details, you'll be finding new treaures each time you look at it!

I wanted this bouquet to appeal to all of your senses, paying particular attention to the movement and sound of this design. Inspired by morris dancers at a countryside fair, I chose to use lots of tiny bells for a very fun and cute gentle jingle! I also played with a mixture of colours and textures, with golden chains and embroidery thread roses hanging delicately from the buttons.

The bouquet has been finished off with 2 layers of hand gathered silk ribbon - a total of 4 metres for a thick ruffle statement. The stem is wrapped with ribbon of a similar finish, creating a bright and exciting bouquet with many tactile details to admire and cherish forever!

Feel free to ask me any questions about my latest design at emmamorledge@msn.com.

A Little Something For The Guys

You might be a little frightened to admit it, but I'm sure some of you guys might just find all this button business your future wife is into kind of cute, so don't feel left out, I can make buttonholes for you too!

Quirky and original buttonholes for you, your best man and anyone else in your wedding party can be made to compliment your lady's bouquet and wedding theme. Did I also mention with any bridal bouquet purchased, you can ask for 1 buttonhole to be made for free? So you too can look super stylish and cool with a vintage, tailor made buttonhole for no added cost!

Just a few of the designs I've made previously to compliment the bouquet of similar design. Please email me with any questions you might have regarding buttonhole designs, I'm happy to help!

Buttons, naturally!

After a day at The Natural History Museum in London on Saturday, I've been inspired by all things natural! So much so that I thought I'd share with you some of the beautiful and interesting buttons I found made from all kinds of natural materials.

Vintage hand painted wooden buttons, the eiffel tower button would be perfect for a Parisian wedding.

Hand carved buttons made from water buffalo bone.

Mixed animal horn buttons.

Antique ivory buttons.

Beach stone buttons, perfect for any coastal wedding.

Vintage hand carved shell buttons, beautiful detail!

Hand carved and imprinted buttons made with clay, these are my faourite! Tactile buttons make the prettiest bouquets.

'Given Enough Tea I Could Rule The World'

As today is completely To Love And to Cherish Bouquet orientated, I find that my main fuel of the day is tea, and lots of it! Whilst working my mind wandered and I thought to myself, how nice would a wedding with a tea theme be!?
My idea of heaven...
