The Nicest Evenings...

The nicest way to spend an evening after a busy day at my day job is by making a big cup of tea, switching on the radio and making my next bouquet! Take a look at a few of the little special folky buttons, beads and treasures I have to play with, I thought I'd share them with you as they're so lovely.

The warm Summer weather we're currently enjoying is keeping me inspired for this very bright and playful folklore/bohemian inspired bouquet, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the warm evenings buttoning away with it! Updates to come soon.

Love In London

One of my quirkier bouquets, the Love In London design was made for anyone getting married in the city, anyone who has a love for Great Britain, or simply to compliment a red, white and blue theme. Also with the Queen's jubilee and the Olympics later on this year, it would be rude not to!

I found some very cute shank buttons of soldiers, red buses, stamps, big ben, post cards and even pub signs! I also used a mixture of buttons including fabric covered navy ones, and little red fabric roses. Pearls were added in too for the royal theme.

For something a bit more fun on the stem of the bouquet I wrapped royal blue ribbon around the base of a sparkly silver ribbon. The bouquet is surrounded by hand gathered white lace.

I made a very quirky buttonhole to match the Love In London bouquet for the fashionable groom who likes to be a little different. The main feature of the buttonhole is the red double decker bus.

The buttonhole is £10, but FREE with the purchase of any bridal bouquet.

A 50 stem bouquet made to be like this would cost around £85 for me to make for your very British wedding.

Vintage Button Excitement!

My Great Grandma kindly gave me a big button box full of lovely and unusual buttons to use in my bouquets. Take a look at a few of the vintage beauties she passed down to me! I'm so excited to use them, although they look to pretty on the paper packaging to use! I will definitely be saving the packaging, maybe I could scrapbook them?

Audrey Hepburn

With so many influences of my bouquets coming from all things vintage, I want to show you some of my biggest inspirations over a series of posts dotted about through the To Love And To Cherish Bouquets blog.

Audrey Hepburn - a HUGE inspiration to me;her style, her movies, her lifestyle and her elegance.

Do you think Audrey would've liked a To Love And To Cherish bouquet? I do!

Classic Chic

The Classic Chic bouquet was based on the traditional ivory wedding dress and accessories a bride might choose to wear on her most special day. I wanted to create a bouquet that reflects the classic, elegant and timeless look of a most sophisticated bride. Sparkles and pearls are clustered within ivory buttons, that are surrounded by a delicate, feminine ruffle.

The strings of pearls and diamante hanging from the bouquet were inspired by the pearl necklace my grandparent's had made for me when I was born, they saved it until my 18th birthday where they presented it to me, and I'm lovingly treasuring it until the day I get married.

Perhaps the strings of pearls could be an old necklace that was passed down to you, or a piece of jewellery that holds a special memory for you and your husband to be?

The Classic Chic bouquet is made with 100 stems, including; glass pearls; swarovski crystals; ivory, white and clear buttons and tiny glass beads. It has 2 strings of pearls and 2 strings of diamante crystals hanging at the base. The bouquet is surrounded by 2 metres of tulle ruffles and the stem is wrapped with ivory satin ribbon. A bouquet made to be a similar design to this would cost around £155.

Pastel Promises

The inspiration for the Pastel Promises bouquet came from one of the biggest fashion trends for Spring/Summer '12. The cool, refreshing colours remind me of childhood sweets and ice cream! Pastels are used alot in weddings due to their delicate shades which instantly add a pretty touch to any table, chair, cake or in this case the bride's beautifully feminine look. I added a lot of sparkle to the bouquet for that extra Summery twinkle in your wedding photographs!

This bouquet has 100 stems and includes atleast 2 buttons on each stem; small pale pink beads; tiny beads; a swarovski crystal and silver button in the centre; and 12 diamante buttons. It is finished off with 3 metres of hand gathered vintage inspired lace surrounding the buttons, and the stem is wrapped in a pale blue silk ribbon.

A bouquet made to be a similar design as this would cost £165, please remember due to the nature of the buttons and details, every bouquet will be a one of a kind piece.

The Pre-Launch Photo Shoot

Yesterday morning was very exciting as I had my first product pre-launch photo shoot with the very talented photographer Holly Booth! Holly is a professional freelance photographer who specialises in fashion, portrait, lifestlye, product photographs, and has recently dabbled in bridal work, creating her beautiful photographs with the use of natural light and on location.

She is a friend of mine and I had been wanting to work with her for a while after falling in love with her photography work a year or so ago; I felt honoured to have my bouquets and buttonholes photographed by her and working with her was a real pleasure! When making my first group of bouquets I knew Holly would be the perfect photographer for the look and tone of To Love And To Cherish Bouquets, and I'm so excited to unveil the first photographs.

I have been busy making a range of bouquets and buttonholes to introduce my style of bouquet making and the different designs I can create, ready to take to wedding fairs and to release online. The shoot went so well, we had plenty of vintage props on the go and the set ups were everything I'd hoped for and more.

To Love And To Cherish Bouquets will be launching very soon with more blog entries, a new facebook page, twitter updates and all the latest bouquet news for you to feast your pretty eyes on!

In the meanwhile please check out Holly's lovely website www.hollybooth.com for all of her latest portfolio work. I also highly recommend following her on twitter @hollyphotobooth!
