Work In Progress

Here is a little sneaky peek at the progress so far of the bouquet I'm working on at the moment. This is only half way through the making stage as I have other details to add including 6m in total of ribbon to hand gather around the edge!

I wanted to design something a bit different and I'm so glad I did as it's turning out well. Wooden and vintage buttons, ribbons, beads and even bells have been used to give this design a real country village carnvial feel.

I hope you like it! Finished pictures will be up soon!

On Display At Debenhams

Good evening!
Today has been a very exciting day for To Love And To Cherish Bouquets as Debenhams in Derby have been kind enough for me to display one of my bouquets in store as well as business cards for customers to help themselves to.

It's a fantastic opportunity and I feel privileged to be able to have my work displayed in one of the UK's biggest department stores!

You can find the pictured bouquet (the 'Pastel Promises' design) and business cards on display on the left of the main column at the Wedding Service department on the third floor. As some of you might know I work part time here as a visual assistant, so if you're interested and have any questions you might be lucky enough to find me somewhere in store!

Debenhams have a fantastic wedding service and can help you with anything from suit hire, wedding insurance and stationary, to styling and ofcourse the Debenhams Wedding Gift Lists (which might I mention have some fab offers, including a free £50 giftcard when £250 is spent on your wedding list!). To find out more click here to visit the Debenhams Wedding Services webpage, or pop into your local store where you'll find friendly staff more than happy to help you for your big day.

Marilyn Monroe

“The real lover is the man who can thrill you by kissing your forehead or smiling into your eyes or just staring into space.” - Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe is my all time favourite vintage idol, I own lots of her films and have enjoyed reading lots of biographies and books about her - such a tragic story for a beautiful role model with much more intelligence than she was ever given credit for. The finest lady in 50's glamour! Also, did you see My Week With Marilyn last year? It was one of my favourite movies of 2011, Michelle Williams played her fantastically!

I feel a bouquet design based on 1950s movie stars coming along!

Pretty In Pink

The Pretty In Pink bouquet is a small posy of a range of different shades of pink; perfect for your very beautiful little flower girl! I wanted to create the ultimate little girl's bouquet, complete with baby pink marabou feathers....

I had lots of fun making this bouquet as pink was my favourite colour when I was younger, and I just know this would've been my own dream bouquet back when I believed I was a Disney princess! I chose to avoid using any other colours apart from shades of pink as I think the flower girl would want to feel like a mini princess holding a bunch of very pretty and very pink buttons that would stand out and make her feel special!

The Pretty In Pink bouquet is made of 50 stems of vintage inspired, layered buttons and metal flower details with diamante centres. There are roughly 100 buttons included in this design! The bouquet of pink pretties is surrounded with baby pink marabou feathers, a beautifully soft detail that contrasts perfectly with the ceramic, plastic and metallic buttons. The stem has been carefully wrapped in a pale pink satin ribbon, delicately finishing off a very girl design. This bouquet would cost approximately £85, a small price to pay for princess dreams for a little girl that will last a life time!

Very exciting news, hopefully within a week or two Debenhams in Derby will have one of my bouquets on display along with a bunch of my business cards for you to pick up and take home! The Wedding Services are fantastic at Debenhams and it will be an honour to be able to have my work displayed in their department as one of their independant service providers :).
